2023June03 – President/Award Night

Meatballs, samosas, brie, chicken wings, bacon wrapped pickle spears, tomato mozzarella spears, seven-layer dip, sausage rolls, veggies and dip, spinach dip, bacon concoctions, shrimp and “Ray’s” favourite jalapeno cornbread muffins were just some of some amazing appetizers our members brought to President’s Night on Saturday.  It was a very impressive spread and there was enough food to fill everyone’s appetite.   It was a great display of culinary talent that exists in the club.

The second portion of the evening was the presentation of the awards to our recipients.  Congratulations to all the award winners and the presenters who did a great job handing them out.

The final portion of the evening was handed over to Steve Baron.  The stand-up comics he recruited were outstanding.  Kenny Turner and Paul Kloegman did an amazing job.  They were the consummate professions and kept everyone in stitches.  Doug Lucas, the DJ, did an amazing job as well.  He started with his rendition of My Girl, and waited patiently for the Karaoke crowd to warm up.  Kudos to Dirk for being the first one to lead the singing.   I understand the singing went on all evening until the witching hour.

It sure looked like everyone had a great time.  Was it worth attending?  I think everyone would give it a thumbs up.
