About the Twilighters
The Twilighter Rugby Club is a member of the Cascadia Masters Rugby Union, a sub-union of the British Columbia Rugby Union. The game of over 40 Rugby is played under the same laws as Rugby Union except for the recognition of age which is determined by the colour of shorts a player is wearing: 38-49, white; 50-59, black; 60-69, red; 70-79, gold; and 80s, maroon. A 40 or 50 year old player will give respect to a 60 or older player in the intensity of a tackle.
The season starts the 1st weekend after Labour Day in September till the 1st weekend in December. It then continues from the 1st weekend in February to mid-May with a festival of all teams and international teams ending the season. We always welcome new members of any skill level to join us. Wednesday evenings (year round) we meet for “practice” around 6pm at our Burnaby Lake Clubhouse.
