This past Sunday was the ‘Icebreaker’ Season Opener where all the teams were to congregate at Klahanie Park, home of Snowcaps RFC, and the Twilighters were originally scheduled to play against Evergreen RFC. However due to something called the 2023 Rugby World Cup, many teams were low in numbers as many had travelled to France.
Hosted at Snowcaps home Klahanie Park the CMRU season kicked off with two games.
Game one saw Ebb Tide vs Snowcaps. The boys in Red came over with a full squad ready to go vs an equally manned Snowcap team. Ebbtide edged out the home team 3-2.
Game two featured your Twilighters against a Barbarian side, deemed the EverSOBs, and consisting of members from SOB’s, Abbotsford Originals, and Evergreen RFC, in a well matched and spirited game.
Great performances by all with Cory Turkington at the helm at #9.
With tries from Fizzle (3), Jeke (2), Gord (2), Irving (1) and Lance (1), the Twilighters were victorious in their campaign finishing 9 – 1.
